I need to know who invented the bicycle.?

As part of my studies I am interested in the history of bicycles, and would like to know who invented the bicycle. I know that there are several answers to this question.

I am also interested in the history of bicycles and specifically in the question of - Who invented the bicycles.



During my search for information regarding bicycle history, I have found out that the answer to the question that was posed earlier - who invented the bicycle - could not be pinpointed to one man only.

The credit will have to be distributed to a few good men since the invention of the bicycle was not an overnight success but an evolution.



To my view the answer to the question as to who invented the bicycle should have been replaced with - who were the people who helped make the bicycle what it is today.
