Why americans do not believe that Lance Armstrong was doped?

Why is that, even though evidences and proofs do exist?
Is it because of national pride or is it because of misunderstanding of how cyclism has been working for a few decades?

It is probably pride and that Americans don't understand a thing about cycling. Offcourse there is doping in cycling. But then is the question what is seen as doping. I mean it is not normal the tour the france to cycle everyday about 180 kilometers in the max. Your body must suffer it is not healthy anymore. So they will need something to keep their bodies healthy and keep on with everybody and perform perfect the next race. I know Lance does have an extreme VO max, and he has certain abilities rarely seen by people. But they will take something to keep their bodies healthy, and then is that doping too? Doping is everything what is on the doping list I know. But this line is thin. There is this Belgium doctor who has been wirting a book about it, what is doping. He was the doctor of the Festina team in 1997. So to say is Lance doped, just how you want to answer this question.

What evidence? He's the most drug tested athlete in the world, and he's never failed a test. Does he have a magical ability to pass drug tests? No, he's just really, really good.
When is the rest of the world going to accept that Lance Armstrong is not doped?

Because the "evidence" and so-called "proofs" are not reliable due to age and contamination. Also because of the obvious French bias and desperation to attack anything American. Why haven't all of his victories been overturned if the evidence is so overwhelming?

because we are a naive people who beleive what we are told. and we dont want to see the ugly truth we would rather live in a dream world.
