Does anyone know (or can make) a SIMPLE sprocket wear equation (for bicycles) caused by chain wear, with variables such as time, coefficient of friction, # teeth, amount of force applied, and hardness of both chain and sprocket (i think i need that right?)?

I know there are alot of variables to consider but i just need a simple equation that doesnt haev to be too accurate.

Thanks!

I don't understand the need for an equation if it isn't going to be accurate. Math is accurate.

Your premise of simple sprocket wear equation, then admitting there are a lot of variables contradicts itself.

The best wear equation is replace your sprockets every 7 chains.

bikeworks came up with last time you asked (and is as close to an equation as anything):

(S/H) / (lb. ft. / {#teeth x #links}) x (f) = contact maximum=failure

I already GAVE you a formula which is as easy as I could make it.

I think this was asked the other day, you may want to search for that question.
