One of my worst crashes was when I went down so fast I was still holding on to my handlebars with my feet clipped in! My entire right side was torn up, and my helmet was crushed in right at my temple and cracked all the way across. Mild concussion and some road rash.
Or another time when my tires couldn't take the lean angle I was at and I slid out, tearing up my left side on concrete. Gloves were toast, but my shorts were fine and my Sidis got a little shredded. The problem was I had a HUGE patch of missing skin from my knee halfway down my leg. I treated it like any other road rash, but my leg started swelling after a couple days.
Turns out I had a 2nd degree friction burn from the pavement! The doc gave me some burn cream, and I spent the next two weeks tearing bandages from my leg three times a day until it stopped weeping.
That sucked!

I was 15 and on summer vacation in VT on Okemo Mt. At the time I was really into mountain biking. So I decided to take a ride up the mountain. Made it up just fine. The way down was a whole different story. I was trying to see how fast I could go when I took a turn just a little too fast hit some sand and proceeded to slide on my right side/leg down the side of Okemo. I stopped sliding about 600 yards from the point the road that I slid off of. I had road rash from my right ankle to my knee, my whole inside of my right arm, on my chin and my right side. I am now 25 and I still wince just thinking about the rubbing alchol that was poured into my wounds and the nylon brush that was used in order to clean the dirt and gravel and grass that was embedded in my skin. I also had puncture marks that looked like a shark bite on my left thigh from the bycicle gear that I landed on top of somehow. Plus a broken left thumb from trying to unentangle the bike chain from the frame. The chain broke and my thumb whaked the frame and snapped. Just then a car full of some really cute guys pulls up and asked me for help. I must have had a ton of adrenaline running thruogh my system because I refused the ride to the bottom of the mountain not realising how hurt I really was. I then proceeded to coast very causiously to the condo we were staying at the base of the mountain. I can still remember my mom screaming for my dad to help when I walked in the door covered in dirt and blood and I was asking for a band-aide. It took about a month and a half to heal. My right leg hurt the worst it was worse than labor. I'm not joking.

when i was a kid we were jumping a dirt hill about six feet high at its peak. i got about a 1/4 mile head start and got up to fastest possible speed. i was only about ten and didn't understand that all i needed to do was lift up a little bit on the handle bars to get air. i pulled as hard as i could at the top of the hill flipped backwards about halfway and landed as directly on my head as possible without breaking my neck.
needless to say i was knocked out cold for a couple minutes. thank god i am not paralyzed to this day!
this is potentially the worst, but i had worse injuries when my tire slipped into the crevice of a storm drain and i flew over the front handlebars and split my chin open (8 stitches)
lol at the slamming on the front brakes and learning exactly what will happen......did that one 2.

I was racing west on 41st Avenue in Queens, NYC. The clicking sounds of baseball cards hitting the spokes made me want to pedal faster. Faster and faster I spun the bicycle wheels as the rookie Mickey Mantle and rookie Nolan Ryan baseball cards resisted the spokes but finally gave way. Finally, I crashed twenty years later when I discovered those two twisted, bent and torn baseball cards were worth combined over $5,000.

I think the most embarrassing would be, riding my bikes with my friends, we're all talking barely paying attention and I crashed into a parked car.
Worst, going off a table top(type of jump), I freaked out, hit the front brake and my face was ground into the top of the jump from the beginning of it to the end of it...! Bout 3-4ft , My face is all hideous now :(

I was riding in a park, and after 5pm cars come through the park area. So This car decided to pull off to the road, just as I was flying down a hill, and instead of smashing foward into the car, I jumped off my bike and rolled down the hill along with my bike. When I woke up with a splash of water, I was surrounded by people. I stood up and noticed blood all over me! I was taken to the hospital immediately!

Coasting down a long hill in Albuquerque New Mexico and hit a sewer grating. Flipped me about 10 feet in the air for about 30 feet. Landed in hot sand and rocks. Rolled a long way, scraping arms, legs, head. Bike looked like a pretzel. But, I lived and had no broken bones.

im pretty careful on my bike so i haven't had to many accidents. i t-boned a minivan once when the driver didnt use her turn signal and pulled right in front of me (i left a nice 12" pinstripe on her car, score!). ive hit trees a couple times, and i hydroplaned going 30mph down a 35 grade hill while it was wet. i hit the brakes too hard and did a 25ft skid on my back. no damage other than a bruise though. thats about it. i try my best to avoid anything, i dont want to bang up my $3000 bike.

came racing down a hill about 1/2 mile trying to jump some small hills but front tire hit a ravine and folded the front wheel over leaving me to crash into the dirt not only going fast but on my chest knocked the wind out of me and hurt for a couple of week just to breathe.

I tried to jump like 7 stairs and stop/turn before railroad tracks...i couldnt stop fast enough, nose dived over the edge, onto the tracks and broke 3 ribs... how swweeett it was..
or
I was just cruisin down a hill and my buddy was on his skateboard and he fell, and his board was flying down the hill and it was going right for a car, so i tried to catch up with it and stop it with my foot...well the skateboard hit a pebble and juked to left and went under my front wheel...i had no steering and it was going left so i was probably going about 25mpg and i went right over the handlebars down the hill with a tshirt...when it was all said and done, i got up and pulled out a stone from my elbow. another sweet time...those were probably the worst two.

I was riding my bike down this steep hill hit a pot hole that caused the bike to flip, I bit the tip of my toungue off and had a gash in my forehead that took 17 stitches to close. 20 some odd years later I still talk with a lisp and have a permanent bump in my forehead.

Was jumping a driveway and the front fork assembly came apart. Handlebars came off in my hands and I flipped over the back of the bike. Thank GOD I landed in the grass on my back. Was pretty ugly still.

Going down a dirt track in a local wood one summers evening, head down and *** up. Thought it was great until i took a jump and didn't land right, feet slipped off pedals and hit the saddle on my nuts. That i thought was painful but what was worse where the two wasps that i flattened but not before the mothers stung me where it hurts. Boy did they swell up.

I hit a rock doing 20mph downhills, flew over the handlebars and landed in a thicket of gorse. I broke my collar bone and was still picking the thorns out a week later.

Falling of a curb onto the street. There was a big hole in the sidewalk. I was so full of little pebbles and tar on my knees and my face and lip got bad cuts. My arms got bad scraps and I was sooooooo sore for days

the one that gave me a concussion, ripped both of my lips off, broke four of my teeth, and gave me a full body rash. (I was wearing a helmet as well) I felt no pain though.
