How can you find the size of a rim? Not hight?

I know that theres 20, 24, 26 ect wheels for bikes but im trying to buy some new rims for my 20 inch bike and the rims come in mini experts and pros. Is the size of the rim just the width of it? Also what are the conversions into micro, mini, junior, expert, and pro. Right now i think i have a expert or pro rim something like 1.50 inches. Please help i want to order the rims tonight.
