back gears on bike broken?

ok my stupid friend was takin it for a ride and den broke all my back gears. i dont kno what he did but when i try and shift it, one press will turn it like 4 gears, and it doesnt even make a difference. theres no difference from 7 to 1, its all the same. also, on my front gear 2 and 3 are the same. how can i fix?

Sounds to me like the rear derailleur hanger is bent. It takes a special tool to realign it so a trip to the bike shop is necessary.

well i would say that the back drallier (cant spell it)! has been bashed into somehing which has knocked the indexing. There are a few ways of fixing it: twist the cable adjuster ( the cable that leads from the gear changers to the drallier or adjust the indexing. You can find out about this by searching it on google. But if I was you, then i would take it to a bike shop as it does sound dramatic! they shouldn't charge much. hope this helps!

I would think the rear dérailleur is out of whack and needs to be adjusted. There are lots of websites with advice on how to accomplish this.
