Im getting my son a bmx bike for christmas. He's told me he wants it lightweight (23-24 pounds or under if possible). Are there any nice bmx bikes I could get him thats leightweight, and under $350? Please say how light the bike is.Thanks

Look into any of the lower end Kink bikes. They recently released the 2011 Kink Curb, its better than the 2010 version which I rode as a beginner and it was great to learn on. The 2011 would be a great starting bike and weighs in at around 26lbs(your not going to find a bike 23-24lbs or lower for $350)....by the way any kink bike is worth it, great brand and quality

I agree with Jay, you arnt going to find anything lighter than 24 lbs without having to pay more than $350 (the only exception being a GT fly which are pretty cheap, around the 280 AUD mark and are 22 lbs), i'd say Mongoose mischief is a good brand to start with

The 2009 kind jap Lowdown is a gem in case you're only beginning up the sport of BMX. surprisingly gentle-weight and graphically impressive in its pink coloured layout that could be a ultimate high quality BMX bicycle and is extremely inexpensive.

I would highly recommend a GT compe-$320 (24lbs w/o pegs) or a GT Bump-$350 (23lbs w/o pegs)
The COMPE has an unsealed front hub, however everything else is sealed, it also comes with triple wall rims.
The bump, however, is completely sealed, but has aleienation PBRs, which are high quality single wall rims
