Hi everyone, I've recently came across a great deal on a a 2011 Trek Madone SSL WSD ($1300), however most of the parts (shifter, front/rear derailleur and crankset), except the brakes, seem to be replaced by Sram Force components. The wheel too have been switched out from the traditional Bontrager wheel to a Panasonic Panaracer wheel.

My question is how does Sram Force compare to the factory Dura-ace components?
and is this still a 'great' deal after the change in components?

The actual bike (with Sram components):

I have always thought that Force and Ultegra were the same class and Red and Dura Ace were the race models. Force is a very nice group. You list the top SSL build in you link there were other builds the link has the carbon wheels which are a big ticket item and the bike you show has aluminum wheels. Cannot see the wheelset nor can I idenify wheels from looks like many can I would need to look at specs but bladed spokes so probably a pretty good set. The condition looks good and if an SSL a real deal at that price

The high end bikes are usually available with Shimino or Sram components I doubt they switched out the whole group.

If the bike is the correct size it's a good deal. The Panasonic Panaracer is a tire not a wheel. They do not make wheels.

Panasonic Panaracer is a TIRE, not a wheel. Replacing TIRES with a different brand is as common as salmonella on room temperature chicken.

SRAM Force is a FAR better group than Dura Ace in my opinion plus it has the added benefit of being able to be rebuilt. One Dura Ace dies you throw it away.
