I've been riding fixie before and I use a saddle bag, the one that you put below the saddle/seat. Now I am buying a road bike and I am planning to use a cellphone holder with bag. It is placed on the top tube frame near the stem. I want this cause I am having trouble keeping my phone. I don't have pockets when riding bike. Usually what I put inside bags are 2 extra interiors, repair kit, levers, and some screw drivers. So instead of having two separate holders (a cellphone holder and a saddle bag), the cellphone bag is what I am going to use. By the way I already sold my saddle bag with my old fixie. What do you think of this?

I don't like them much. When riding out-of-saddle, my knees tend to rub the sides of the bag.

A personal choice. I don't need to worry about my cellphone while riding because I only use it for emergency calls. Hopefully, people who use bags like that will offer opinions. The only downside I can see about that bag is that the phone could be a distraction. In a car, a situation like that can be a distraction. On a bike, that distraction can be fatal

Couldn't use it there my gas tank is located on the top tube.

Doesn't matter what I think. Do you like it? If so, buy it. I keep my cell phone in a rear pocket of a cycling jersey.
