They come with the Marlin Disc that I'm looking at. Just wondering how the brakes hold up (I ride a pretty good amount) and if they are worth the extra money on the bike over V-brakes.

I've been a V-brake user for a while and have been reluctent to switch over to mechanical discs because of some reviews and friend's personal experience (but they're Shimano DBs, so you can't expect much).

Yeah for sure! I have a pair on my bike and they are the best mechs I've ever used (I hear BB7s are better but BB5s still are way ahead of Hayes or anything else out there).

yeah, they seem pretty good. I haven't ridden with those particular brakes, but i have the 2004 Avid"ball bearing disc brakes" which was before the BB5 and BB7 came out (the BB stands for ball bearing) and they are really nice, but you can't expect the brakes to work really well the first time you use them. They need time to break in. I think break in is around 20-30 high speed stops on both front and back brakes.

A downhill motorbike with V-brakes? would not sound as if the motorbike you equipped is as a lot because the use you opt on to positioned it to. the following is a idea: for variety of 0.5 what you would pay for cable operated disc brakes you ought to purchase a set of Shimano XT aspect v-brakes. they might end as well because the discs in all in spite of the indisputable fact that the very wettest of situations and allow you to save up swifter for a good set of hydraulic disc brakes
